- The lunar eclipse of August 17, 2027 On August 17, 2027, two weeks after the great total solar eclipse, the full Moon partly crosses Earth’s penumbra.
- The lunar eclipse of August 28, 2026 On August 28, 2026, the full Moon plunges almost entirely into Earth’s shadow: a deep partial eclipse, with around 93% of the lunar diameter eclipsed at the peak, at 4:13 UTC, i.e.
- The lunar eclipse of December 31, 2028 On December 31, 2028, the last full Moon of the year crosses Earth’s shadow: a deep total lunar eclipse, with 1 h 12 of totality around the peak at 16:52 UTC, i.e.
- The lunar eclipse of February 20, 2027 On the night of February 20 to 21, 2027, the full Moon crosses Earth’s penumbra without touching its full shadow: a penumbral eclipse, the faintest of the three kinds of lunar eclipse.
- The lunar eclipse of January 12, 2028 On January 12, 2028, the full Moon grazes Earth’s shadow: a light partial eclipse, where only a small edge of the disc, a few percent of the diameter, dips into the full shadow.
- The lunar eclipse of July 18, 2027 On July 18, 2027, the full Moon grazes Earth’s penumbra: technically an eclipse, the most marginal of the 2026-2028 stretch, and it stays undetectable to the naked eye.
- The lunar eclipse of July 6, 2028 On July 6, 2028, the full Moon plunges partly into Earth’s shadow: a little more than a third of its diameter darkens at the peak, at 18:20 UTC, i.e.
- The lunar eclipse of March 3, 2026 On March 3, 2026, the full Moon passes through Earth’s shadow: a total lunar eclipse, with 59 minutes of totality around the peak at 11:34 UTC.
- The solar eclipse of August 12, 2026 On August 12, 2026, the Moon fully covers the Sun over the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain: the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999.
- The solar eclipse of August 2, 2027 On August 2, 2027, the Moon’s shadow crosses southern Spain, the Maghreb, Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula: a total solar eclipse whose totality peaks at 6 minutes and 23 seconds near Luxor, the longest of the 21st century over land.
- The solar eclipse of February 17, 2026 On February 17, 2026, the Moon passes in front of the Sun without covering it entirely: an annular eclipse, which leaves a ring of light shining around the dark disc.
- The solar eclipse of February 6, 2027 On February 6, 2027, the Moon passes in front of the Sun without quite covering it: a ring of light crosses the south of Chile and Argentina before sweeping out over the South Atlantic.
- The solar eclipse of January 26, 2028 On January 26, 2028, an annular solar eclipse traces its ring of fire from Ecuador to northern Brazil, crosses the Atlantic and ends its run at sunset over the south-west of Spain and Portugal.
- The solar eclipse of July 22, 2028 On July 22, 2028, the Moon’s shadow crosses Australia diagonally, from the Kimberley in the north-west to Sydney in the south-east, before touching the South Island of New Zealand: a total solar eclipse offering up to more than five minutes of night in broad daylight.
