Virgo
Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury, covering roughly 23 August to 22 September. In Western astrology it is tied to discernment, service and care for detail. Having the Sun in Virgo describes a person drawn to analysis, practical improvement and usefulness, someone who seeks to make everyday life fairer and more functional.
The Virgo temperament
If you are a Virgo, you notice what others miss: you refine, you correct, you want to get things right. Your mutable earth makes you practical, attentive, sometimes too demanding of yourself. Your strength is your eye for detail placed in service of others; your lesson is learning to accept that good enough is very often enough.
Its place in the zodiac
Sixth of the twelve signs, Virgo closes summer and readies the harvest. An earth sign, it shares that ground with Taurus and Capricorn; a mutable sign, it adapts and fine-tunes the waning season. Across from it, Pisces opens its care for the concrete toward dream and compassion.
