Scorpio
Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac, a fixed water sign traditionally ruled by Mars and, in modern astrology, by Pluto, covering roughly 23 October to 21 November. It is tied to intensity, transformation and hidden depths. Having the Sun in Scorpio describes a person drawn to truth, total commitment and metamorphosis, someone who is never content with the surface of things.
The Scorpio temperament
If you are a Scorpio, you feel everything deeply: you reach for what is essential, you give yourself fully or not at all. Your fixed water makes you intense, loyal, sometimes secretive. Your strength is your power to transform yourself and whatever you touch; your lesson is learning to let go without experiencing it as a loss of control.
Its place in the zodiac
Eighth of the twelve signs, Scorpio plunges autumn into its deepest waters. A water sign, it shares that sensitivity with Cancer and Pisces; a fixed sign, it concentrates and deepens the season. Across from it, Taurus anchors its intensity in the simplicity and steadiness of the present.
