Reversed meaning
The reversed meaning is the sense given to a card drawn upside down. Rather than a flat negative, tradition offers several frames: blocked or repressed energy, a softened or delayed sense, a movement turned inward, or an excess and imbalance of the card’s quality. Statistically, a well-shuffled card comes up reversed about half the time; some methods choose never to read reversals at all.
