Tarot numerology
Tarot numerology reads a card’s number as a stage in a cycle from one to ten. The classic pattern: 1 (Ace) the seed and potential, 2 balance and choice, 3 creation and growth, 4 stability, 5 crisis and change, 6 harmony, 7 testing and reflection, 8 movement and power, 9 near-fulfillment, 10 completion that begins a new cycle. The same number links all four suits.
Reading a number across the suits
Take a number and look at it through the four families. The 5 is everywhere a crisis, but colored by its element: 5 of Swords a clash of ideas, 5 of Cups a grief, 5 of Wands a rivalry, 5 of Pentacles a material lack. The number gives the verb, the suit gives the ground where it takes shape.
Reducing the Major Arcana
You can also link the majors by their number. Add and reduce: The Devil (XV) gives 1+5 = 6, like The Lovers (VI), two cards of bond and romantic choice. The Tower (XVI) makes 7, like The Chariot (VII), two jolts that push you forward. These echoes are not rules but threads to pull when you want to go deeper into a card.
