Pythagorean table
The Pythagorean table is the grid assigning each letter of the alphabet a value from 1 to 9 by position: A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, then J starts again at 1, K=2, and so on through Z=8. It is the basic tool of modern Western numerology: it converts a name into numbers to calculate the expression, soul urge and personality numbers.
What it does for you
The Pythagorean table is your Rosetta stone: without it, your name stays silent. With it, each letter becomes a digit, and your first name starts to speak. It is the necessary step before working out your expression or soul urge. Once the grid is memorized, you read your name like a small score.
How to use it
Keep the run in mind: 1 to 9 across the first nine letters, then back to 1. For one letter, count its position in the alphabet and reduce if it goes above 9: R is the 18th, so 1+8 = 9. Write the value under each letter of your name, add by block, then reduce. The grid does the rest.
