Glossary Lithotherapy

Citrine

Citrine is a yellow to golden variety of quartz, its tone recalling honey or autumn sunlight. In lithotherapy, tradition associates it with joy, confidence and abundance, and links it to the solar plexus chakra. Naturally rare, it is often produced by heating amethyst. These correspondences belong to symbolism and culture, to an old imagination rather than a science.

A solar stone

Its golden color calls in light, momentum, the days when you feel capable. Many set it on their workspace like a small pocket sun, entrusting it with the intention of keeping their spirits and drive. You might look at it for a moment when you need a little inner warmth.

In the tradition

Its name comes from the lemon, for its yellow tone. It has long been associated with the light of the sun, and so with vitality and optimism. Lithotherapy links it to the solar plexus, the center tradition associates with self-confidence and self-assertion.
