Exaltation
Exaltation is the sign where a planet, without being at home, finds itself honored and shown to advantage. The Sun is exalted in Aries, the Moon in Taurus, Saturn in Libra. An exalted planet acts with brilliance and dignity, sometimes with an excess of zeal, like a guest of honor. It is the second essential dignity after domicile, and its opposite is fall, in the opposite sign.
The guest of honor
If domicile is being at home, exaltation is being received with great ceremony elsewhere. The planet shines there, room is made for it, yet it remains a guest: its ease comes from regard, not from belonging. This often gives a noble, generous expression, sometimes a little overstated, like someone who does a lot because they are being honored.
A brilliance to handle
An exalted planet in your chart points to a field where you can shine, as long as you do not mistake brilliance for rightness. Exaltation magnifies, it does not anchor. Read it as a visible talent, one that always gains from being tempered by the quieter solidity of planets in domicile.
