Cazimi
Cazimi describes a planet located at the exact heart of the Sun, within one degree of its position, sometimes tightened to sixteen minutes of arc. In traditional astrology this planet is said to be in the heart of the king and considered strengthened rather than weakened, unlike a planet merely burned by its closeness to the Sun. The term comes from the Arabic kasmimi, itself drawn from Greek.
The heart of the king
Where combustion harms a planet drowned in solar glare, cazimi seats it at the king's table. Within a handful of minutes of the Sun's center, the planet is no longer consumed but protected. If you carry a cazimi planet in your chart, its function takes on a singular clarity, as if purified by its closeness to the hearth of your map.
A rare favor
Cazimi remains an uncommon placement, one that needs a carefully calculated chart given how narrow the margin is. Traditional authors treat it as a powerful accidental dignity, able to lift an otherwise poorly placed planet. Rather than a promise, read it as a light: a part of you that knows how to speak from the center without ever raising its voice.
