Full Moon in Aries.

Next occurrence · 17:49 →

A full moon in Aries happens when the Moon, opposite the Sun, crosses the sign of Aries, about once a year. The next one falls on September 26, 2026. Tradition reads it as a point of culmination in the register of the sign: personal fire peaks opposite the sign of connection, and the boldness sown in spring asks for its place.

What this lunation colors

It rises in October, when the Sun moves through Libra: on one side the sign of the bond, of compromise, of the “we”; on the other, the full moon in Aries, the sign of the self, of raw desire, of the body that won’t wait. Every full moon is a face-off, and this one is the most head-on in the zodiac: what, in your life, has been smoothed over, rounded off, negotiated away until it no longer looks like you? Aries opens the first house, the house of identity and momentum: under this light, the boldness you planted in spring shows what it has become, and whatever you gave up to keep the peace floats back up, sometimes with a flash of anger. Tradition doesn’t treat that anger as an accident: it’s information, the part of you that says “I exist too.” This full moon’s cardinal fire lights up fast and bright, the mood can run electric, truths come out without warning. What ripens here is your ability to stay yourself inside a bond, without sacrificing one for the other. And what asks to be released is often a politeness that has turned into self-erasure: one yes too many, an accommodating role that no longer holds. A full moon of relational courage: saying “I” without breaking the “we.”

A ritual to welcome it

On the night of the full moon, take ten minutes alone. Write, without holding back, what you don’t dare say to anyone’s face: the yeses that were really noes, the swallowed irritations. Read it aloud, standing, just for yourself: Aries needs it to pass through the body and the voice. Then choose: whatever deserves a real conversation, note it for the days ahead; whatever was only steam, tear the page up slowly. Finish with a gesture that gives you back your territory: rearrange a corner of a room, go for a run, dance hard. Fire settles better once it’s been allowed to burn a little.

Three questions for your journal

  1. In which relationship have I rounded myself off until I no longer recognize my own edges?
  2. What anger am I swallowing right now, and what is it trying to protect?
  3. What did I dare to begin in the last six months, and what has that beginning become today?

And the new moon in the same sign: new moon in Aries, or the whole full moon calendar.
