Swords (tarot)
Swords are one of the four suits of the tarot’s Minor Arcana, tied to the element Air. They speak of the mind: thought, ideas, speech, but also conflict, choices and the search for truth. In a reading, a majority of Swords turns the focus toward the mental realm and tension rather than the heart or material life. The suit runs from Ace to Ten.
The ground they touch
When Swords appear in your spread, look toward your head: your thoughts, your decisions, your words, sometimes your disagreements. This is the suit of air and of the blade, the one that separates true from false and names things clearly, even when the naming stings a little.
How to read them
A Swords card invites you to clarify what you really think and to face a conflict directly. Ask yourself what truth is trying to be spoken, what decision is waiting. Read it as a mirror of your mind in this moment: a call to lucidity rather than a dark omen to dread.
