Cups (tarot)
Cups are one of the four suits of the tarot’s Minor Arcana, tied to the element Water. They speak of the heart: emotions, bonds, love, intuition. In a reading, a majority of Cups turns the focus toward emotional life and feeling rather than action or material matters. The suit runs from Ace to Ten, completed by its four court cards.
The ground they touch
When Cups appear in your spread, listen to what is happening within you on the level of the heart. They evoke your relationships, your attachments, your sensitivity, the way you love and the way you receive. This is the suit of bonds and of water flowing between people, soft and ever-moving.
How to read them
A Cups card invites you to look at your emotional world without judging it. Ask yourself what you truly feel, what nourishes you or what is missing. Read it as a mirror of your heart in this moment: not an order, but an invitation to welcome whatever is moving through you.
