Active number
The active number is calculated from the letters of the given name alone, the one a person introduces themselves by and is called. Each letter receives its value from 1 to 9 in the Pythagorean table, and the sum is reduced to a single digit. Also called the first-name number, it describes the most active and immediate part of the personality, the natural way of acting and getting into motion day to day.
What it reveals about you
Your active number speaks of your first reflex: the way you set off, take the floor, step into action. It is the color of your given name, what others hear when they call you. More spontaneous than your expression number, it tells how you behave before you even think about it, in the heat of the moment.
How to work it out
Write the given name you are called by, give each letter its value in the Pythagorean table, add them and reduce to a digit from 1 to 9. Then compare it to your hereditary number, drawn from the surname: together they make up your expression number and show how your personal drive meets your inheritance.
