Mount of Venus
The mount of Venus is the fleshy pad at the base of the thumb, the rounded rise that the life line encircles in an arc. It is the largest of the palm’s mounts. Palmistry tradition reads it as emotional vitality: warmth, sensuality, love of life, and the capacity to reach toward others. It is read by touch: a full, firm mount speaks of overflowing energy, a flat, soft one of a more withdrawn emotional life.
Where to spot it
Open your hand and look at the base of the thumb: the rounded zone the life line wraps around is the mount of Venus. Press it gently with the thumb of your other hand. Its height, firmness, and width matter as much as its relief. It is the widest territory of your palm, and often the most telling about your relationship to pleasure and connection.
What tradition reads in it
Benham made it the seat of love of life and sensual warmth. A full, firm, rosy mount suggests generous vitality, a taste for others and for beauty; a flat or hollow mount, a more guarded emotional nature that holds itself back. Too hard, it speaks of ardor without nuance; too soft, of energy that scatters. Feel yours, and listen to what it tells of your drive.
