Heart line
The heart line is the highest horizontal line on the palm, running beneath the base of the fingers from the edge of the hand toward the index or middle finger. Palmistry tradition reads it as the emotional life: the way one loves, attaches, expresses or holds back feeling. Its curve, depth, and ending point shade the reading, somewhere between a demonstrative heart and a more reserved tenderness.
Where to find it
It is the highest line on the palm: it runs beneath the base of the fingers, starting from the edge of the hand on the little-finger side, and heads toward the index or middle finger. Look at it on your dominant hand first, then compare it with the other palm: the two paths rarely tell the same story.
What tradition reads in it
Benham saw this line as the seat of the emotional life. A curved line, rising toward the index finger, would speak of an expressive, idealistic heart that loves openly; a straighter line, of a reserved tenderness that gives itself with caution. The depth of the line would tell the intensity with which you live your attachments.
