Moon

The Moon is the second luminary of the birth chart in Western astrology. Its sign and house describe a person's emotional life, their deep needs, their instinctive reflexes and their sense of safety. Tradition links it to the mother, to childhood and to the inner world; psychological astrology reads it as the emotional unconscious, the memory held in the body, and the way one soothes and cares for oneself.

What the Moon lights up

Where your Moon sits is where you feel before you think: how you react in the moment, what calms you, what you need in order to feel safe. Its sign colors your moods and its house shows where you look for comfort, the inner home you return to when the world wears you out.

In the tradition

The ancients tied the Moon to the body, to cycles and to the mother figure, a changing mirror of inner tides. The modern reading sees it as the part of you that remembers: your emotional habits, what you learned very early about care and attachment, and which you sometimes replay without noticing.
